Stark is asking Frieren for advice on his upcoming date with Fern, but isn't happy with her response to his question of what she would do if Stark asked her on a date, which he thinks makes her sound like a grandma. Insulted, Frieren warns that if Stark suggests she's a hag one more time that she'll scream and cry with the manga showing a brief one panel flashback of one time she threw a three day tantrum when she was in Himmel's party. This panel just shows her clutching her arms and crying. When this scene was adapted into episode 3 of the second season, the animators decided to expand on the scene by showing more of the tantrum. Frieren doesn't just clutch her legs, she moves all around the room, continuously bawling and soaking up her bed sheets and her pillow while Himmel, Heiter, and Eisen can only watch on helpless to stop her. The anime version of the scene became especially popular and memetic.
