For some mysterious reason, M/F artwork gets tagged so bizarrely that it makes looking for (or avoiding) specific dynamics feel like finding a needle in a corn field.

This is something I’ve been annoyed with while looking through shota pics for ages.

I don’t like onee/shota. I’m not into women. Especially not huge tittied, milfy women.
So when I look for boy pics, I wind up putting “shota -1girl -multiple_girls -breasts -hetero” or something similar depending on the day. “large_breasts”, “huge_breasts” and “onee-shota” are in my blacklist. When I hit enter, I am greeted with big boobied women sexing boys who are like knee height.

Not only am I not into women, I am not the type of guy who envisions myself as the boy. Venus of Willendorf mommy dommy art is NOT what I want. And yet these images commonly go undertagged, meaning, I still see them if I filter them.
For whatever reason, people forget to acknowledge half of the drawing. Sometimes the pictures in question are completely focused on the woman and the boy is just a prop, but the post still lacks a 1girl tag. Sometimes the woman has breasts the size of her whole torso and it doesn’t get tagged even when it borderline qualifies as hyper fetish.
If it was just a handful every once in a while, I’d just trudge through and fix it myself, but it’s a lot of old posts, and I really don’t want to spend the time staring at pictures that should have been filtered by my blacklist.

HOWEVER, this is not the issue that motivated me to make a forum post. The bigger issue is with “loli 1boy -faceless_male -pov”.

I put this into the search bar earlier, because I want to see cute girls with handsome men. My intention was for both man and girl to be present as characters, with focus on BOTH parties. Like here:

When I loaded the page, EVERY POST for EIGHT PAGES straight was faceless male, solo focus, and POV. That’s eight pages of the exact OPPOSITE of what I was looking for.
Every post was exclusively centered on the girl with the man as set dressing. Some images were completely solo and tagged as 1boy even though only one character was in the image. No dick. Nothing.
Did the tagger hallucinate the presence of a man? Are we tagging camera men now?
One man, one girl, no kodomo doushi. I would even accept ugly bastard. I would understand if there were only 11 results. I cannot accept blatant negligence and hallucination.

If half the man’s head is out of the file boundaries, he is faceless. If his head and neck are blacked out with a gradient, he is faceless. Generic character turned away from the camera is faceless. ORAL SEX POV IS POV AND FACELESS MALE. Same with foot job pov, and top down dakimakura view. RSC and mating press are faceless. No face = faceless.

HOW AM I GETTING MORE IMAGES OF DOG SEX THAN MEN WITH FACES??? No results would be better than this!
I can’t fix a problem at this scale. Especially not with the sheer volume of images that come in this way.

I do like this pic a lot though.

Alot of the images on the website come straight from danbooru, including their tags.
These are usually uploaded by an uploading bot/user called "danbooru".
And alot of them go untouched after being uploaded here.
So a lot of these images were tagged by danbooru users, not Gelbooru users.

Some people aren't very thorough with their tagging to put it lightly.
They might even put the bare minimum tags required to upload and then add a "tagme" tag.

So there are a lot of images that have the bare minimum tagging done. Multiply that by millions of images posted over the course of well over a decade and a half...and you can start to see where your issue comes from.
I've seen old Images with plenty of tags and dozens of tag edits alongside old images that haven't been edited since they were uploaded back in 2009.

A lot of people will neglect technical/background tags like "looking_at_viewer", "simple_background", "faceless_male", clothing colors, background details, items, even clothing altogether sometimes.
Adjectives tend to get overlooked a lot of times from my experience.

We have a 'Gardeners Guild' dedicated to tagging, normal users and staff/mods who help tag images and fix info, but there are only so many users to go around. With the ever growing amount of images on the website, some are bound to be missed or take a while to get noticed.

So yeah, there's a lot of inconsistency with how things are tagged because tags are often made by users who can make mistakes, are from a different website, and/or take the easy route and only do basic tags.

(Commonly blacklisted tags are supposed to be a priority, alongside character/copyright/artist and spoilers.)

with the basic tags (some even bad), so that's it, taggers are missing.
Sometimes you tag and you don't know all the tags, I see that lot people missing the facing viewer, from side, or full body tags as they already mentioned above, the only solution left is to become what you needed for another person, tag the images
