It’s becoming a pain to navigate the site. Keep getting redirected to external sites. Is this happening to anyone else?

Only banners and pop-unders should redirect you to other sites. I think you have malware on your side mate.
Edit: Yeah, we also allow links to relevant (to a post) sites/content to be posted in comments but you'll know it's a link before you click it.

Yup it's also happening on my end that's why I gotta use an Adblocker because if you don't use one navigating this site is a massive pain oh and I search with my anti virus daily and it hasn't detected one single malware so it's definitely an issue with the website.

Where are you being redirected to?
Are you using Gelbooru.com or Gelbooru.me. Gelbooru.me is a phishing site.
FYI, Ad-blockers break the site so don't expect it to work right if you are using one. That's not a problem with the site but a problem with the blockers using a list they should not be using. One of those lists has been deprecated for many years but they still use it.

It mostly seems to be some kind of cam-girl site. It only does it on this website, and it usually happens when I click a thumbnail or try to favorite an image. Then it goes so crazy I can’t even hit back to return and have to re-enter the url to get back.

I seem to get one pop-under or redirect per browser session. (And a video slider ad.)
After maybe 5 minutes of doing stuff, one will show up as I click on something but that's it.
After the one ad shows up and I close it, I don't get anymore ads.
If I close my browser down and then come back to the website later it's the same deal. I'll get an advertisement as I try to click on something after about 5 minutes, but after that one pop-under ad (and the video slider) I don't get any more advertisements.
That's how the ads are supposed to work on Gelbooru, right?
(It's a bit annoying but I expect it as I click on something, and after that one ad I don't have to worry about it.)

I tried updating my browser, and using mobile, but the redirects keep happening. It is only on this site it happens. I’m kinda disappointed, as this site is pretty good all things considered, but I can’t use it lately.

Trying to use GB on mobile is so annoying getting redirected to chaturbate and AI bullshit when I just want to click what I searched for
